Gerritt's Pictures: January 2003 - Colorado
The scenery in Goodland, Kansas, not far from the tumbleweed incident.
I'm sure Van Gogh was a frequent visitor whenever he needed some inspiration.
Some of the scenes from Avon, where we stayed for the week.
Vail is America's most popular ski resort, so we drove the 20 minutes one night to check it out.
Katie and I drove down to Megan's ranch near Taos, New Mexico for a couple of days.
Its not far from Philmont Scout Ranch, where I hiked in July, 1999.
I can now say that I've petted an alpaca. (Its name was Kwanza.)
And we saw some cool stuff on the way back to Avon.
Back at the resort, it was a great night for ice skating on the lake.
Snowboarding at Ski Cooper, where you can ski either side of the Continental Divide.
And we drive back to Blacksburg, with 4,000 miles of America behind us.
(It would've been much easier without Kansas in the way.)
